Client Objective

The design integrates a variety of dynamic spaces, including a welcoming entry area, student lounges, podcast rooms, printer zones, and multiple flexible collaboration rooms that support both focused individual work and team interaction.  These elements come together to create an environment that adapts easily to evolving academic and social needs.

A mix of specialized environments—such as large and medium classrooms, a virtual reality immersion room, and a very spacious collaboration zone—encourage hands-on learning and various interdisciplinary exploration. Dedicated breakrooms and gaming areas enhance comfort and engagement, creating a balance between productivity and recreation.

Customized to inspire next-generation thinkers, the expansion supports activities ranging from 3D printing and rapid prototyping to drone flight training, as well as emerging fields like options, stocks, and crypto trading, gaming, and esports. The result is a forward-looking, tech-driven learning hub that reflects Clark Atlanta University’s commitment to foster innovation and student empowerment.

NTI Solutions

Facility Technology Design – NTI designed and produced drawings and specifications for the facility’s technology infrastructure by coordinating with the architect and the ownership group. The drawings detail all Audio Visual (AV) elements. Using a globally recognized standards-based approach per TIA/EIA, ANSI, and BICSI guidelines, 

Construction Administration – During the construction phase, NTI personnel responded to inquiries from contractors regarding the technology systems’ build-out. We also visited the site to observe the contractor’s progress, workmanship, and adherence to NTI drawings and specifications.

Throughout every stage, we maintained close collaboration with the architectural and ownership teams to ensure the  facility was thoughtfully designed to accommodate future technological advancements.
