Jeff Cook, RCDD
Jeff founded NTI in 1998 with his partner and has remained an active project manager, in addition to acting as Principal in Charge on hundreds of projects. Under his leadership, NTI has built a portfolio which exceeds 1,000 projects, largely from clients that return with a 2nd, 3rd, or more projects after their initial experience. He is an RCDD with a BAAS from the University of Delaware who had 15 years of experience largely as an entrepreneur before founding NTI. Jeff is married with 4 children. His hobbies include fishing, woodworking, and construction projects around the home and spending time with his family at the lake in a cabin he and his kids built several years ago.
As a Principal in the company, Scott is responsible for all NTI services offered on projects he manages. He also manages our Kennesaw office, and is our senior mentor for the NTI team regarding design production. He has served as either Principal in Charge or Project Manager for hundreds of projects involving all aspects of technology systems design and implementation. Scott has been in the consulting business since 1988 and holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of CO.
James Thorton, RCDD, SET
James joined the NTI team in 2018, bringing 25 years in the industry with him. His vast experience was a welcome addition to the NTI leadership team. James made an immediate impact upon his arrival by providing valuable expertise as a Principle in Charge for selected key accounts such as State Farm Insurance’s new regional hub.
James began his career early working for a Fortune 1000 company. Throughout his career, he has studied mechanical and electrical engineering, earned his RCDD credential and acquired his Georgia Unrestricted Low Voltage License and SET (NICET Level IV in Fire Alarm). He is an active BICSI member and has been a committee member of the Electronic Safety and Security (ESS) Standards Committee.
As an Associate Principal, Ilya is actively involved in all phases of NTI’s professional services including programming, design, procurement and implementation management, and construction administration. He joined the NTI team in 2005.
Ilya’s credentials include an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Telecommunications (in Russia), M.S. Computer Science from Southern Polytechnic University. He is an RCDD, a Network Transport Specialist, and a PMP. Ilya began his career in 1985 in the Fiber Optics Research field, and now has vast experience with design and project management for the cabling infrastructure for Voice and Data, CCTV, Card Access, CATV/MATV , plus Wireless Networks and Distributed Antenna Systems.
Before joining the NTI team as an Associate Principal, James was already an accomplished senior information technology executive and a leader in his field. His extensive experience includes strategic planning, compliance oversight, analytical problem solving, strategic process improvement, information resource management, and business operations.
James impressive hospitality career experience includes having held the positions of Interim CIO at White Lodging Services, Interim CIO at Millennium Hotels North American Lodging Operations, Vice President, Information Technology at Sage Hospitality, and Director, Information Technology at John Q. Hammons Hotels. He has also served on major brands and organizational advisory boards, including at Marriott, Starwood and the national HFTP (Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals).
John is our Design Sales Director and manages all facets of business development, including lead sales management, branding, marketing, client retention and the NTI newsletter. He also works with a variety of administrative/operational efforts to help improve effectiveness and efficiency. When he joined the NTI team in 2008, John brought 25 years of experience in sales, management, and marketing with software and technology services companies. He holds a BS in Business from the University of New Orleans. John is married with 4 adult children and 3 grandchildren, and enjoys hiking, great food, and traveling with his wife and friends.
Mike Kennedy, PMP
Mike joined the NTI team in 2014, and brought with him 18 years of experience of project design, project management and management of people. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication from the Art Institute of Atlanta, and is PMP and LEED certified. Mike is an outdoor enthusiast who spends his weekends kayaking, individually and as an instructor. He is also a committed volunteer for Team River Runner (TRR), a program that teaches veterans how to kayak, and at the local animal shelter, working with dogs.
Chris came to NTI in 2019 with significant experience in the low voltage industry. Because of his experience and credentials, he is uniquely qualified to add value to the design team in multiple capacities. Chris is adept in all facets of Division 27 & 28 systems design, and has also become a valuable asset to our quality assurance (QA) staff. He designs, estimates and provides QA for audiovisual, security, and structured cabling projects, making him a true workplace technology expert.
Chris has been in the industry for over 13 years. After graduating college he began his career as an electrical engineer and project manager focusing on low voltage and fiber design. Before joining the ASD team in 2018, Chris worked for Gwinnett County schools where he managed and designed their low voltage and data network cabling systems.
Danny Pratt, CTS-D
Danny has been in the audio visual industry for over 14 years. He started off as a technician in the field but his knack for solving problems quickly laded him in an engineering role. Over the years he has gained experience in E.A.S.E. (acoustic simulation), CAD programs such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Vectorworks, and earned his CTS-D certification from AVIXA.
Danny is skilled in the design of video and audio distribution systems, streaming media, audio and video conferencing, structured cabling, and fiber optic cable. He has primarily worked on large-scale projects, like arenas and stadiums, but has experience with projects of all sizes. Danny enjoys the fast pace of the industry and keeping up with the latest trends.
“Ro” is an original NTI employee. Before joining the fledgling NTI in 1998, Ro already had 20 years of experience working as draftsman and designer. From his home country of the Philippines, Ro achieved an Associate in Architecture from St. Louis University, a BSFA in Interior Design from the University of Santo Tomas, and completed Computer Aided Drafting from the Access Institute of Computer Technology. Ro loves drafting and preparing working drawings of different disciplines, whether engineering or architectural. His career of over 3 decades is evidence of his commitment.
Brian joined NTI in our drafting department in 2017, having recently completed his Associate in Drafting from Athens Technical. He came referred by his professor and has lived up to his referral as a welcome resource to our growing business. His credentials also include his Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Georgia, and certificates in Graphic Design and Global Tesol Accent Reduction. Brian could easily be considered a “renaissance man”, as a self-described artist who plays the violin, and enjoys drawing in his free time.
Mary Jo Sessum
Mary Jo joined the NTI family in September of 2017, bringing with her 14 years of experience in civil and architectural design, plus extremely well-developed design documentation skills with AutoCAD and Revit.
She is organized, detail-oriented, as well as a conscientious self-starter, and immediately added value upon her arrival at NTI’s Kennesaw office. When not working, Mary Jo enjoys exploring new places and spending time with her two grown children, Ricky and Halie Jo.
Sho joined the NTI design team in November 2018, having been referred to as a top AutoCAD student at Gwinnett Technical College. Before joining NTI, she worked as an Elfa Designer at The Container Store where she created plans with design techniques and custom design of residential spaces. She remains enrolled at Gwinnett Technical College where she will receive her Advanced AutoCAD Technician Degree in May 2019.
Sho has proven to be a self-starting high achiever who is detailed-oriented and versatile, with exceptional analytical skills which show in her work.
Whitney joined NTI in July of 2018, initially working part-time, providing various sales, marketing, and administrative assistance as she finished her degree at Georgia Gwinnett College. Whitney quickly proved herself to be a valuable and disciplined student of our business, adding a much needed resource to continue the growth of our company.
After graduating with a degree in Business, and a Management major, Whitney was hired as a full-time employee as a marketing assistant. Whitney is also a Youth Ministry Leader, who enjoys spending time with her family and reading inspirational, history and mystery books.
David brought with him vast experience in the IT and low voltage industries when he joined the NTI design team. With a career that started at Emory University in 2000, David has worked as a network engineer, technology consultant, and project manager for nearly 20 years.
David’s background included a lot of relevant experience for our company, such as working with IT systems, network integration, and AV systems, and working as an AV Designer, with both Revit and AutoCAD. David’s broad and extensive experience provided immediate benefit to the NTI design team. In his downtime, David loves to watch soccer, hike on beautiful days, and read history books.
Jessica came to NTI as a design professional, bringing with her 9 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining NTI, she worked as a LV/AV CAD/Revit Designer for another low voltage design firm. While there, she gained valuable experience in drafting technical documentation in AutoCAD and Revit. Her job also included attending project kick-off, programming, and design team meetings, coordinating all phase of construction documents from project kick-off throughout the design phase and 100% construction documents. She has worked on projects in various markets such as Multi-Family Residential, Government, Education, and Hospitality. We feel fortunate that Jessica chose to join the NTI family
Jessica quickly proved to be a resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues. In her free time, she loves going to Six Flags with her kids and playing with her animals.
Chuck brings with him 19 years of experience as a Designer and a C.A.D Operators’ certificate from Carrollton Technical College. Before he joined NTI, he was an Electrical Designer for Caldwell Electric where he introduced and maintained company standard, utilized AutoCAD and Revit, and supported project managers.
Chuck is a self-motivator and a strong communicator which provides great benefits for NTI when working with Clients and co-workers. In his free time, Chuck likes to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and working on his mini-farm.
