Client Objective

The new Paulding County Jail & Sheriff's Office headquarters in Dallas, GA, broke ground in 2018 and opened in 2020 with the mission to work collectively with the community in order to keep citizens safe and free of crime by upholding the ideals outlined in the Constitution of the United States of America in a fair and respectful way.

The new jail doubled the total number of inmate beds than the previous jail provided. The new development also includes a new administrative space for the sheriff's office and the county government's first dedicated morgue. NTI is proud to have served as the technology consultant for the new jail and sheriff's office headquarters.

The new 660 bed, 133,000 SF jail is built on a 25-acre site and replaces a 25-year-old 200-bed facility. The 58,000 SF sheriff's office headquarters is adjacent to the jail. The new Sheriff's Office consolidates all divisions under one roof, making it easier for citizens. It will also help the Sheriff's Office run more efficiently because everyone will operate out of the same building. And it will also cut down on the risk of transporting inmates to court because of the enclosed walkway from the new jail to the courthouse.

NTI Solutions

Structured Cabling System - Consisted of copper and fiber optic cabling to support voice and data (phone, LAN, wireless and hardwired internet) services within the facility.

MATV/CATV Cabling System - The vendor-approved cabling infrastructure consisted of coaxial cabling, splitters, taps, amplifiers, etc., as necessary to provide a complete distribution system to support a requirement for TV signal coverage for all areas within the facility.

Wireless Systems - NTI will plan and document the wireless access nodes within the facility, which are generally used for wireless access to the high-speed internet. Other wireless requirements within the facility may include first responders, cellular coverage, and staff communication systems.

Audio Visual Systems - The design included meeting room technology, distributed audio video systems and sound recording, reinforcement, and masking in meeting rooms and public areas within the sheriff's office, administrative, inmate housing, and support areas. Control systems for evidentiary submittals presentation, distribution, and storage will also be a part of the design scope, as deemed necessary.
