One of Hilton's new brands opens in NYC
The new 661-room Tempo by Hilton Times Square opened in August of 2023. The new hotel's lobby is on the 1st floor of the 46-story tower. Above the lobby, there is a live performance theater. Hotel guests check in on the 11th floor. The guestroom levels begin on the 16th floor, offering staggering views of the New York skyline from the heart of Manhattan. NTI is proud to have been on the design team for this magnificent new hotel.
In 2022, New York YIMBY helped introduce the new Tempo by Hilton, explaining that there is a “Get Ready Zone” is in each guestroom for organization or working. Bathrooms have Bluetooth speakers, toiletries by Apotheke, and full-height windows with views of Times Square.
According to Matt Schuyler, chief brand officer, described the new brand this way. “As our newest brand, Tempo by Hilton is designed to create an elevated and innovative stay, with thoughtfully appointed rooms that offer comfort and functionality plus an emphasis on wellbeing.”
The new lifestyle concept brand is positioned above Hilton Garden Inn and below Canopy by Hilton on the price spectrum and is designed to cater to what Hilton has dubbed "modern achievers." According to Travel Weekly, Kevin Morgan, Tempo brand leader said that extensive market research indicated that the modern achiever typically has a six-figure salary and tends to gravitate toward other upscale and design-forward consumer brands like Tesla, Warby Parker, Shinola and Peloton.
The new Hilton brand is one of 3 Hilton Lifestyle brands. Canopy by Hilton and Motto by Hilton are the other two. The Hilton Lifestyle category. A Hilton press release from earlier this year reported 90 new Lifestyle branded hotels under development.
