Does NTI work on design-build projects? Those who have worked with NTI before might say, “no.” After all, we are pure consultants whose sole focus has always been providing the best value technology solutions for our clients. This includes budget and design consultation and production of construction documents coordinated with other disciplines for the IT cabling infrastructure and AV and Security systems. Our scope often includes construction administration, project management for procurement, and/or on-site implementation oversight, as needed.
It may seem that as pure consultants, NTI might only engage with design-bid-build projects. However, while most of our projects are design-bid-build projects, we have worked on numerous design-build projects. Some notable facilities include the world-class Marriott Marquis in Washington DC with over 1 million GSF, and The Crawford Hotel, an adaptive re-use project at the historic Denver Union Station. Each are examples of using consultants who focus on design within a design-build project management approach. So the answer to the question, “does NTI work on design-build projects?” is yes.
The biggest difference for NTI with these two approaches is for whom we work. We usually work directly for an owner, owner’s rep/project manager, or an architect for a design-bid-build project. For a design-build project, we most often work directly for the GC or a construction manager, coordinating with the architect’s design team throughout the design phase.
NTI was founded by Jeff Cook and his partners to provide professional commercial technology consultation services. Since 1998, NTI has developed impressive portfolios for many markets, with a collective portfolio of over 1,300 projects.
NTI is a full line technology consulting firm. We are pure consultants whose sole focus is to provide the best value technology solutions for our clients with our full-time professional staff.
